International Overdose Awareness Day: Fight for the Living
Join Needlepoint Sanctuary, the Maine Recovery Advocacy Project, and the Party for Socialism and Liberation for a rally calling for policy reforms, immediate action to end the overdose crisis, an end to the criminalization of homelessness, and recognition of the human rights of People Who Use Drugs. There will be a rally on August 25th at Pierce Park in Bangor, followed by a brief march to City Hall and a silent vigil on the City Hall steps. Please join Needlepoint Sanctuary staff to learn the fundamentals of our services. This event will equip you with the needed skills and knowledge to participate in our outreach programs. This training covers an orientation towards our array of services, the fundamentals of harm reduction, and an overdose prevention training. Please RSVP Below!
Testing Tuesday!
Testing Tuesday & Wrap Around Day is a day of wrap-around services for anyone in need of support in the greater Bangor area. Various providers will be present on these days offering STD testing, wound-care, and helping people access additional services such as case management. Call 207-631-9311 to learn more.
Saturday Afternoon Outreach
Join Needlepoint Sanctuary staff and volunteers for our weekly outreach on Saturday afternoon from 2-5PM. Those interested in joining must attend a Needlepoint outreach 101 training prior to joining us for outreach. Staff and volunteers meet at noon at 120 Park Street to prepare for Saturday outreach, before heading to our outreach locations at 2PM. Sign up for a shift below!
